Port of Cromarty Firth boss Bob Buskie believes the Highlands is the right place for renewables

There could be no better place for a green freeport – that is according to Port of Cromarty Firth CEO Bob Buskie.

Speaking to Highland News and Media, he said: "We are sitting on the biggest wind resource, probably, in the world."

So what will it do? Here are some of the leading people behind the bid speaking about why it matters so much to the north.

The green freeport will see serial manufacturing of offshore wind turbines at the port.

The potential for the area is huge, particularly in terms of employment – something that Invergordon is badly in need of.
