A man has been convicted of the murder of Renee and Andrew MacRae in 1976.

William MacDowell (80) has been on trial at the High Court in Inverness for the last three weeks.

He denied two counts of murder relating to the disappearance of the mother and son as well as a further charge of attempting to pervert the course of justice.

However a jury has now found him guilty.
