As the city bids farewell to the past and embraces the promise of a new year, we took to the streets to uncover the diverse array of resolutions made by its residents and tourists.

From pledges to embrace Veganuary and embark on Dry January to commitments of forming stronger connections with friends and taking on fitness goals, the people of Inverness have shared their aspirations for 2024.

Some people were keen to focus on their physical and mental wellbeing, as one person said: "I want to be able to loose weight and to think more positively."

Whilst others were looking to improve on their face-to-face connections with friends and family by spending at least one day a week not going on their phone.

Another wanted to achieve the same thing, as she said: "I want to invest more time in my friendships and plan something each week to do with them."

Overall the majority of people were eager to become a better person by building on healthy regular habits, drinking less alcohol, reading more, and being kind to others.

If you are stuck for some new year's resolution ideas, then here are a few to get you going.

1. Build a better budget.

2. Cook something new each week.

3. Create a cleaning schedule so you will stick to it.

4. Commit to a healthier sleep routine.

5. Join a club.

6. Take the stairs.

7. Plan a vacation.

8. Start a new career and explore something new.

9. Volunteer regularly.

10. Get into a body positive mindset.
