Hollywood actress Karen Gillan hopes to try to reduce the stigma surrounding mental health issues.

The Inverness-born star is an ambassador for Highland suicide prevention charity Mikeysline.

She said in footage shared by the charity during Children's Mental Health Week: "It's something that all of us deal with at some point in our lives.

"Nobody is immune to this.

"There is still such a stigma around it and people are embarrassed to talk about it.

"I want to help try to reduce that. The more we communicate, the better we can tackle this problem."
