A GROUP of women have completed a strenuous mountain trek challenge in Croatia raising close to £133,000 for the Highland Hospice.

The Blister Sisters were climbing in the mountains in Istria last week in a bid to support the charity.

Among the 17 members of the expedition, some have experienced cancer themselves and others have lost loved ones and faced the trekking in their memory.

Blister Sister Maria Crawford said: "What a fabulous experience I've had on our trek to Croatia. I've had the most amazing week.

"Thank you to all the Blister Sisters who made this event very memorable. I've not laughed this much in a long time!

"After all the training, I was very worried I wouldn't be able to do it as this was my first ever trek but I smashed it just like the other Blister Sisters.

"Thank you to everyone on this trek as I will cherish these memories for a long time.

"The last amount I know of is that we have made over £132,000 for the Highland Hospice, so proud!"

A strenuous but great experience.

Morag MacGilvray: "I had the best experience in Croatia with the most amazing, inspirational ladies. Special memories I will cherish forever and raising lots of money for our beloved Hospice."
