WATCH: Delight, as Royal National Mod gets under way in Inverness with a tune from Duncan Chisholm and Anna Macleod

For Gaels across the globe, the song can finally sing itself!

The Royal National Mod kicks off today in Inverness with a tune from internationally renowned fiddle player Duncan Chisholm.

Joined by Gaelic singer Anna Macleod at Inverness Castle, the pair sang in welcome to the beginning the nine-day festival of Gaelic culture, music, song and laughter.

The week, the first after a pause due to the pandemic, is set to be both in person and online.

Tonight there will be an Opening Concert, held in Eden Court at 7.30pm, £14/£7 for An Comunn Gàidhealach members.

And tomorrow, Saturday 9, Eden Court will host Our Language, Our Music, at 7.30pm, £14/£7 for An Comunn Gàidhealach members.
