Callum Beattie dropped in to Fortrose Academy yesterday (March 19) to meet some of the youngsters making a difference in their community.

The acclaimed singer-songwriter from East Lothian called in to the new Mental Health Hub at Fortrose Academy.

He took the time to meet some of the High Life Highland young leaders and mental health ambassadors, where they shared stories about their volunteering, leadership work, and their passions. One of the youngsters, Orlagh, even shared an English essay she wrote about suicide.

Callum sang a few of his tunes for the group, before they joined together to sing Dougie Maclean's Caledonia as a group.

High Life Highland Black Isle said: "Absolutely wonderful afternoon today! We were absolutely delighted to welcome singer Callum Beatie into Fortrose Academy to meet some of our amazing Young Leaders and Mental Health Ambassadors. Callum listened to the stories and personal journeys from our young people.

"We also had our fabulous bakers whipped up a storm in the Youthwork Classroom with Caits Bakes and team."
