The new initiative from Inverness-based charity Clarity Walk was led by founder Matt Wallace on December 23, with participants tackling Ord Hill.
Mr Wallace said: “There is a perceived pressure on men to be strong and not show weakness, so we are unlikely to reach out for support when needed and access mental health services.
“For male mental health and wellbeing we realised there weren’t many support services available in the Highlands that men felt comfortable to access.
“We designed this project to be very accessible for men as it is simply walking and talking about anything and everything. There is no pressure to disclose any mental health issues or hardships you are experiencing as we give you the opportunity to talk as much or as little as you want.
“It is simply men coming together for a chat, and it makes all the difference.”
The project is currently looking for a new main sponsor to help fund both one to one and group sessions as well as core costs involved in the running of the charity. Sponsors can invest monthly or make a one-off payment.
The men only walk will run twice a month.
