High Life Highland to close Highland Archive Centre's Inverness search rooms to the public amid wider efforts to tackle coronavirus Covid-19's spread across Scotland and the UK; closure also affects archive sites on Skye and in Fort William

THE Highland Archive Centre in Inverness is to close its search rooms to the public in the wake of the growing coronavirus pandemic.

Making the announcement this morning, Highland Archives said: “In line with advice from the Scottish Government and UK government to delay the spread of coronavirus, the search rooms at Highland Archive Centre… will be closed from tomorrow (Wednesday) until further notice.”

The closure also affects High Life Highlands other archive facilities in the region - the Lochaber Archive Centre in Fort William and the Skye & Lochalsh Archive Centre in Portree.
