The Loch Ness Monster has popped her head up for the 12th time this year.

Nessie was seen near Urquhart Castle by Karen Scott and her partner when visiting from Aberdeen on November 24. They reported a creature in the water near the castle at 2.30pm.

“The creature surfaced, disappeared and then reappeared over a period of five minutes,” said Gary Campbell, keeper of the Official Loch Ness Sightings Register, which has accepted the record.

“This is the 12th accepted sighting this year which in a year of lockdown is incredible,” he said.

“It just shows that whatever the situation, Nessie has not gone away and is finishing the end of the year with another unexplained appearance. It all adds to the mystery and is in many ways it is a vintage year for sightings.”
