There could be a new sports facility built near Loch Ness if councillors give the proposal planning permission.

Members of Highland Council’s south planning applications committee are due to make a decision on the application on Tuesday.

Stratherrick and Foyers Community Trust has applied for the development which would include a multi-use games area, sports and play areas, a car park, a community hall and gym.

It is hoped that the facility would be on land 100m north west of Linden, Gray’s Park, Foyers, and officers have recommended that councillors grant permission subject to a number of conditions.

According to the report, which will be presented at the meeting, the purpose of this application is to grant permission for the masterplan, car park and associated drainage with more detailed applications to follow.
