The Victorian Market has closed in Inverness in a bid to help halt the spread of the coronavirus.

A spokesman for the market said: "Due to the current national guidance the Victorian Market is closed, but the Queensgate Arcade will remain open.

"Duncan Fraser Fishmongers and Hastie and Dyce will continue to operate.

"We would like to take this opportunity to thank you very much for the support you have shown our independent businesses in these unprecedented times and hope to welcome you back as soon as possible.

"More information will be posted on our website and on our Facebook page."
