A night porter who attacked his former flatmate outside his home was fined £540 at Inverness Sheriff Court.

Nathan Griffin, of Lochalsh Road, Inverness appeared before Sheriff Robert Frazer and admitted the assault which took place in Portland Place, in the early morning of July 2, 2021.

The court heard that the victim was leaving his property at about 4am and Griffin was waiting outside.

Although he retreated inside to the community hallway, 22-year-old Griffin managed to punch him several times to the head, fiscal depute Naomi Duffy-Welsh told the court.

The man suffered a bleeding nose and bruising.
