American extreme eater and YouTube star Randy Santel is heading to the Highland capital in bid to defeat Scotch and Rye's epic burger challenge in just 35 minutes

An American extreme eater and YouTube star is set to come to Inverness next week.

Randy Santel has put hundreds of culinary challenges under his belt since he started out in 2013.

His YouTube channel has 1.46million subscribers who regularly tune in to watch his consume huge portions of food.

He is currently touring Scotland with his partner Katina Dejarnett, who is also a YouTube star and professional eater.

The hungry couple are heading to the Highland capital on Tuesday to take part in a challenge at Scotch and Rye on Queensgate.

The gastropub has an undefeated epic eating trial which the Missouri based pair hope to be the first to conquer.

It consists of a 24oz bacon and cheeseburger, loaded chilli fries, a side of “kaleslaw”, two ears of buttered corn, four barbecue wings and a 30oz vanilla milkshake.

It costs £35 but is free if the entire dish is finished within 35 minutes.

Randy and Katina are expected to start the challenge at 5pm.
