UPDATE: Police probe Invergordon blaze at derelict building in Highland town

POLICE remain at the scene of a blaze that happened in the heart of an Easter Ross town last night.

Fire services were called to reports of a fire in Invergordon's Mill Street last night at around 7pm.

The small fire was brought under control within the derelict building.

There were no casualties.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We received a report of a fire at a building on High Street, Invergordon around 7.15pm on Thursday, March 9.

“The fire was put out by the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service and no one was injured.

“Officers remain at the scene and enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances.”

Police confirmed that as at time of writing, no arrests had been made.

Stagecoach earlier warned that due to the incident, the main bus stop can't be used as the area had been cordoned off.
