Police have renewed an appeal to help trace a missing OAP with fresh details of his movements in the Highlands.

Jago Ashwell (74) was reported missing from Nottinghamshire, with initial reports saying he was known to have travelled by train on the Far North Line from Inverness to Caithness on Monday.

The force has now said he was last seen leaving Inverness station the following day.

A grainy CCTV image of him at the city station has now been released.

A police spokesman said: "We are appealing for public assistance in tracing Jago Ashwell (74), who has been reported missing from Nottinghamshire.

“He was last seen leaving Inverness train station at 12.43hrs on Tuesday, September 26, thereafter walking to Academy Street.

“Any sightings or information, please get in touch with 101 reference PS-20230926-146.”
