UPDATE: One person taken to hospital following ongoing police incident which closed the A9 in both directions in Inverness earlier today

Police have confirmed that one person had to be taken to hospital following an incident today.

It was near the Culloden Road overbridge and the A9 was closed in both directions and has since reopened.

A Police Scotland spokesman said: “Officers were called to reports of a concern for a person on Culloden Road, Inverness at around 6.05am on Thursday, 19 May, 2022.

"The A9 northbound and southbound carriageways were closed for a time and diversions were put in place.

“The situation has been resolved, all roads are now open and one person has been conveyed to hospital”
