Police are looking for Sam McGuire (28).

Police say a man reported missing last Thursday in the Inverness area has been found safe and well.

Sam McGuire had last been seen at about 8.30 am on April 27 at the Palace Hotel in Inverness.

Concern for the 28-year-old prompted officers to issue an appeal for information, but a Police Scotland spokesman said today: “Sam McGuire, who was reported missing, has been found safe and well.

“Thanks to all who engaged with our appeal.”

The force was keen to highlight missing people services, including a free confidential helpline operating seven days a week from 9am – 11pm.

The service is for “anyone who is thinking of going missing, is currently missing, or has friends or family who are missing”.

The service can be accessed by phone or text on 116 000. Further details can be found at the website https://www.missingpeople.org.uk/
