UPDATE: Man in serious condition in hospital after Boat of Garten A95 accident at weekend

A 21-year-old man is described as being in a 'serious' condition after an early morning accident on the A95 by Boat of Garten.

Police have said that inquiries are continuing into two incidents in close proximity on the Aviemore-Grantown road in the early hours of Sunday.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Enquiries are ongoing into two crashes that took place on the A95 near to Boat of Garten in the early hours of Sunday, 14 May.

"Around 3.10 am police were alerted to a crash involving a single vehicle. The male driver was not injured.

"Around 3.20 am, officers came across a second crash on the same road, not far from the original incident.

"On this occasion two men, aged 21 and 37 years, were taken to Raigmore Hospital in Inverness.

"The 21 year old man has since been transferred to the Royal Infirmary of Aberdeen where medical staff describe his condition as serious.

"The 21-year old man has been arrested in connection with this second incident.

"The road was closed for around 15 hours while enquiries were carried out and was reopened around 6pm.

“Enquiries are ongoing to ascertain the exact circumstances surrounding each crash and to establish if they are linked in any way.

“We would urge anyone with information or any drivers using the road at the time who have dash-cam footage to contact us through 101 quoting reference number 0729 of 14 May.”
