UPDATE: British Transport Police say man in his 50s died in rail track tragedy between Inverness and Aviemore

Police say a man in his 50s died after being hit by a train between Inverness and Aviemore earlier this week.

The man found dead on the tracks has not yet been named by British Transport Police.

The force were called at around 10am on Wednesday following reports of a casualty on the tracks.

Police Scotland also confirmed that the B9006 was closed between Leanach and Croy for a period of time because of the tragedy.
