Tomnahurich swing bridge in Inverness has been operating again today.

It was still closed this morning but seen in action earlier this afternoon after being out of bounds for over a week due to the warm weather.

And with temperatures slightly cooler, road closed signs were removed and it was operational.

It is unclear if it was a test or if the bridge is back to how it should be.

The road – part of the A82 – has been closed to motorists since Friday, June 16.

Last week a spokesperson for Scottish Canals said it was due to "heat expansion" adding: "As a result of recent extreme hot weather, we are unable to swing the bridge."

Motorists were able to use the nearby Torvean bridge.

Scottish Canals has been asked for confirmation of the situation.
