UPDATE: Highland Council launches investigation into Inverness gritter fire

An investigation has been launched into a fire at a Highland Council depot in Inverness, it has been confirmed.

Video footage of the incident was shared on Boxing Day of a gritter which was in flames.

A council spokeswoman said: "I can confirm that a gritter caught fire at Direbught Depot on Monday. An investigation is taking place as to the cause of the fire."
