Chloe's father and other members of the family were at the sentencing today and left distraught and upset.

John O'Donnell was sentenced to just 100 hours of unpaid work and banned from driving for 12 months.

O'Donnell (53) failed to notice a fully extended stabiliser leg was protruding from the left hand side of his vehicle, which had a crane attached, as he drove through Drumnadrochit, on the A82 in 2019.

It struck Chloe Morrison (26), from Drumnadrochit, as she walked along the pavement with her mother.

Chloe's father Robert, also known as Bobo, screamed "No, no, no" when judge Lord Stuart said O'Donnell's case "did not warrant a custodial sentence".

Speaking afterwards he said: "We are not in a good place at the moment. We need to gather our thoughts about what we feel is a travesty of justice against my darling Chloe.

"We are absolutely devastated.

"It's as if he killed Chloe all over again today such was the reaction to his sentencing.

"Chloe will always be our beautiful daughter, always in our hearts and memories."
