A four-night closure of part of the A82 in Inverness for work on stage two of the West Link project has been postponed due to unforeseen circumstances.

The busy trunk road was set to be closed at Tomnahurich from Monday for four consecutive nights.

A council spokesman said: "Due to unforeseen circumstances the overnight road closure planned on the A82 for four consecutive nights from Monday has been postponed.

"Work was due to start between the General Booth Road junction with the A82 and the roundabout to the east of the Tomnahurich swing bridge but that work will not be going ahead at present.

"Highland Council apologises for the late notification regarding this change."
