Contractors have been called in to repair damage at an Inverness primary school.

Earlier Highland Council announced that both Kinmylies Primary School and nursery were both closed today.

One eye witness described the damage as being minor and that it was being repaired.

A council spokeswoman said: "The damage was not criminal – there was an issue with roof fixings and an inspection and any necessary repairs are being made today.

"Parents and carers will be informed by the school when it can reopen."
