UPDATE: A96 reopens after 2-vehicle crash between Inverness and Nairn

A section of the A96 between Inverness and Nairn has reopened following a two-vehicle crash last night.

The road was closed at Gollanfield for around four-and-a-half hours after an accident at about 8pm yesterday.

Police were sent to the scene and officers were directing traffic.

Traffic Scotland advised motorists to use alternative routes before declaring the area was clear at 12.35am today.

It is unclear if anybody was injured.

Police have been invited to comment.
