UPDATE: A9 reopens after 8 hour closure during investigations into collision between car and a lorry near Invergordon

The A9 has reopened near Invergordon eight hours after two people were injured in a collision between a car and lorry.

An air ambulance and two ambulances attended the accident, with the casualties flown to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary.

The condition of the injured is not currently known.

The collision took place on the trunk road after 10.30am this morning between Tomich and Delny with diversions put in place at Alness and Kildary while emergency services attended and Police Scotland carried out investigations.
