THE closure of the Kessock Bridge for around two-and-a-half hours earlier this week followed concern for a person who was later traced safely.

The key A9 link in the Highlands was closed at around 8.10pm on Thursday evening due to what was described as a police incident.

It was opened again at around 10.40pm.

It is understood that police attended following concern for a person who was later traced safely.

Traffic Scotland, which collects and distributes real-time traffic and travel information for the entire Scottish trunk road and motorway network, tracked the closures and issued an alert when the route had re-opened.
