A 21-year-old Inverness man struggled with a security guard after being suspected of hiding something under his jacket.

Inverness Sheriff Court heard that Daniel Fraser, of Old Perth Road, had been in the Tesco Inshes store on the night of November 7, 2021 when the accusation was made.

Fiscal depute Karen Poke told Sheriff Sara Matheson: "The security guard believed he was concealing an item and there was a brief struggle."

Fraser, who admitted threatening or abusive behaviour, had sentence previously deferred for a background report.

Fraser was ordered to carry out 75 hours of unpaid community work and the sheriff told him: "I see from the report that you appear to have turned things round."
