A 23-year-old woman took exception to another customer when they were both leaving a Nairn shop at the same time.

Inverness Sheriff Court was told that Lynda Love, of Tobermory Place, Inverness thought her victim was laughing at her in the Scotmid store on the afternoon of August 30 last year.

Fiscal depute David Morton told Sheriff Eilidh Macdonald that Love had been drinking at the time and staff intervened when the pair clashed outside.

Mr Morton said that Love pushed the woman on the body onto a vehicle.

Defence solicitor John MacColl explained: "Her perception was that the woman was laughing at her appearance and she took exception to that. It was pretty minor."

Love was ordered to carry out 81 hours of unpaid community work.
