A MAN who uploaded almost 950 still images and 14 videos of child abuse was ordered to take part in a rehabilitation and educational programme as well as carrying out 300 hours of unpaid work.

Piotr Kruczkowski (31), of Wyvis Place, Inverness, appeared for sentence at the city’s sheriff court after previously admitting possessing the material. Sheriff Margaret Neilson also placed him under three years of social work supervision and on the sex offenders register for the same period.

The court was told that police raided a house in Torvean Avenue, Inverness on December 21, 2017 and seized two devices.

Examination of them revealed 944 stills, of which 80 were of the most obscene kind. There were also six videos in this category. Sheriff Neilson confiscated the devices.

Defence solicitor Graham Mann said his client, who is Polish but lived in Romania before coming back to the UK to answer the case, “has taken counselling and sought assistance. He will remain in this country to temper the court order.”
