Two Spitfires land at Inverness Airport

The nostalgic roar of WWII plans was heard at Inverness Airport on Sunday.

The two magnificent flying machines made a fuel stop at the city airport after being spotted in the sky above Aviemore on Sunday morning.

The Inverness Courier's sister paper the Strathspey and Badenoch Herald heard that a Spitfire was heading north but, as sharp-eyed photographer David Macleod, said: "Some were saying they were both Spits and one was in war livery, but no-one seemed to be sure what the plane in front was representing."
