Lauders has become the latest Inverness city centre bar to close due to new coronavirus restrictions.

It follows an array of measures announced by First Minister Nicola Sturgeon, including a 16-day ban on all licensed premises serving alcohol indoors from today.

A spokesman for Lauders said: "Due to the recent government announcement we will be closed until further notice.

"We would like to thank for your continued support and look forward to welcoming you back soon."

It comes after a string of other Inverness bars and restaurants made similar announcements, including Revolution.

A Revolution spokesman said: "We’re obviously a bit sad.

"In line with the latest Scottish Government update, we are temporarily closing our bars from 10pm tonight.

"Our beautiful venue is Covid secure, which for you means that we’ve demonstrated an impeccable level of safety during this time. The hospitality industry has the lowest infection rate of all industries over the last month and we’re proud that our safety measures have been a factor in that.

"Sixteen days might feel like a long time, but we’ll be back before you know it."
