LOCAL branches of Frankie & Benny’s and The Filling Station have reopened after lockdown to welcome any customers taking advantage of the UK government's Eat to Help Out scheme.

The Filling Station on Academy Street in Inverness Old Town has already reopened to diners, as well as offering a click and collect and delivery service to those who prefer to eat at home.

Frankie & Benny’s at Inverness Retail Park is also open for diners and takeaways, and will introduce a delivery service from tomorrow.

Both restaurants are part of The Restaurant Group, which earlier this summer revealed that 125 of its restaurants around the UK would not be reopening following lockdown as a result of the impact of the coronavirus crisis.

The restaurants will follow strict Public Health Scotland guidelines and have introduced a number of measures to ensure the safety of customers and staff. These include clear social distancing guidelines and signage, enhanced cleaning practices, mandatory health screening for team members and increased hand washing.

The menus are available digitally and contactless order and payment will be encouraged as well.

Diners will also be asked to book in advance and will be encouraged to pay at the table. Contact details will be collected and stored for 21 days, in accordance with government guidance.

Mark Chambers, chief executive of TRG's leisure division, said: “We very much look forward to welcoming back our guests. Our priority will be to ensure the health and safety of our teams and guests whilst providing a first-class experience.

"We are very pleased with the feedback we have received from returning guests so far and we will be monitoring feedback very closely to ensure we continue to deliver a great and safe experience."

Both restaurants are taking part in the Eat Out to Help Out scheme throughout August, offering 50 per cent off food and non-alcoholic drinks from Monday to Wednesday.

“We are also thrilled to participate in the Eat Out to Help Out scheme. This is a much-needed boost for our sector, and we thank the government for their support,” Mr Chambers added.
