Two local joiners have more time for their pastime of fishing after retiring after a combined 53 years of service to Tulloch Homes.

Angie Mackenzie, of Inverness, and colleague Michael Chisholm, from Maryburgh, both 65, received a presentation from the Inverness-based housebuilder’s chief executive George Fraser.

Mr Mackenzie, who spent 23 years with Cameron and Paterson, a division of Tulloch, said: “I started off working on a house project at Kilmuir, North Kessock, but eventually became involved in large developments at Milton of Leys.

“I’m a sea boat fisherman, sailing off Scrabster, or I do shore fishing on the West Coast.”

Mr Chisholm, who started with Cameron and Paterson 31 years ago, said: ”Inshes Wood was my first job with the firm, but Milton of Leys, on both sides of the road, was to become the biggest development I worked on.

“I’m a trout and salmon angler, mostly on the River Conon – but wherever there’s water.”

Hugh MacGillivray, manager of Tulloch’s joinery team, said: ”We’ve lost a great deal of experience with the retiral of Angie and Michael, who merit warm congratulations for their excellent service.”

The presentation glasses were inscribed with fishing scenes in recognition of their favourite hobby.
