Heartbroken loved ones of a dad who died after his car crashed on the Inverness-Beauly road have taken to social media to pay tribute to the “lovely caring man”.

Paul Peacock was the driver and sole occupant of a silver Volkswagen Golf which left the road near Inchberry at around 1.30pm on Tuesday.

The 60-year-old, of Kiltarlity, was taken to Raigmore Hospital following the accident, but later died in hospital.

No other vehicles were involved.

One Facebook user said: “A lovely caring man gone far too soon. Your loud laugh will be missed.”

Someone else, who said Mr Peacock was “very special”, to her, said: “God bless you. Love to the boys”.

“Paul was such a darling to me,” added another.

“He was full of fun, bless him, my thoughts go out to his family. RIP Paul.”

Another post said: “Taken too soon, your laugh was so loud and made everyone else laugh. Good memories of you laughing at my girls on the bucking bronco. RIP. Love to your sons.”

“How sad to hear about Paul,” said another.

“He was a lovely man. I was talking to him not so long ago. My thoughts are with his lovely boys who he loved dearly”.

And another friend posted the message: “He was such a lovely and funny man. This is very sad. RIP.”

Officers probing the crash are now appealing for anyone who many have information or dash cam footage to come forward to allow them to establish what happened to Mr Peacock.

Road Policing Sergeant Angus Murray said: “Our thoughts at this time are with his family and friends.

“An investigation into the collision is under way and we have already spoken to a number of witnesses.”

Anyone with information can contact Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident number 1668.
