Tributes paid to Claire Cameron who has died

The funeral of an honorary member of The Florians will take place on Thursday.

Claire Cameron peacefully in the care of Highland Hospice earlier this month and the funeral is due to start at 9.30am on December 29.

A spokesman for The Florians shared the news via social media and said: "Claire first joined the Florians in 1974. She loved performing in panto and was involved in panto for 15 years.

"Aside from performing Claire directed several one act plays for the SCDA competition. She also directed several full length plays over the years, including Murder by Misadventure, Aurelia, Calendar Girls, Ladykillers and Blithe Spirit.

"Claire was a keen artist and designed and painted many sets for the club, usually accompanied by her faithful companion Doric. Claire spent her last months as an inpatient in the hospice and enjoyed taking part in their art classes. One of her last projects was designing a Christmas card to raise funds for the hospice. She leaves behind a legacy of her art."

Funeral director John Fraser and Son is taking care of the arrangements and shared a link to the livestream, for those who are unable to attend the funeral, at the family's request.
