Train passengers faced an early morning cancellation in Inverness

A shortage of train crew forced ScotRail to cancel today's early morning service from Inverness to Perth.

The 06:38 train to Edinburgh will instead depart from Perth at 08:55, without calling at Inverness, Aviemore, Kingussie, Blair Atholl, Pitlochry or Dunkeld & Birnam.

All later services on the Highland Mainline are scheduled to run as normal.

Disruption continues between Aberdeen and Inverness with flooding on one of the tracks leading to 15 minute delays on most services.
