Torvean Swing Bridge closed due to ‘operational issue’ - AGAIN!

Torvean Swing Bridge is currently closed to road traffic due to an issue with its automatic operation.

Highland Council said: “Specialist engineers have been unable to diagnose the issue remotely so will need to travel to the site.”

This is a continuing saga for the bridge after already having closed due to issues this month.

The swing bridge, which was designed to work in tandem with its older 'twin' to ensure one crossing is always open to road traffic on the busy A82, has had a troubled history in its short life.
