Organisers of Saturday's Torvean Parkrun have confirmed that the event will go ahead after being cancelled last weekend.

Since the beginning of last week a group of Travellers had set up a makeshift camp at the site forcing the cancellation.

However, by this morning, all of the group had moved on meaning the parkrun could go ahead as planned.

In a statement a spokesman said: "We are pleased to announce that parkrun will be back on Saturday, June 18, and Torvean junior parkrun will return on Sunday.

"We look forward to seeing you all at the weekend and thank you for your understanding."
