A TORCHLIGHT walk will take place tonight in Inverness to bring together people from all backgrounds.

It is being organised by suicide prevention charity Mikeysline, Loch Ness by Jacobite and Clarity Walks and aims to provide a light in the dark for those feeling low and lonely.

It will start and end in Falcon Square and will follow a route through the Ness Islands.

Anyone wanting to take part should meet at Falcon Square at 6pm and take along a torch.

Refreshments will be served afterwards at the Hive drop-in centre in Academy Street.

Mikeysline, which was set up four years ago, provides a text-for-help hotline service for people experiencing thoughts of depression, anxiety, worry or stress.

Two years ago it expanded the service when it opened the Hive, the region’s first out-of-hours mental health crisis centre.
