As the year draws to a close and the anticipation for a fresh beginning heightens, Hogmanay celebrations take centre stage across the Inverness area, offering a vibrant tapestry of events to bid farewell to the old year and welcome the new one with joy and merriment.

This weekend in Inverness, a myriad of exhilarating and culturally rich festivities await, promising locals and visitors alike an unforgettable experience to usher in the New Year.

From traditional ceilidh's and spectacular fireworks displays to live music extravaganzas and a delightful street parade, Inverness is abuzz with an array of captivating events that promise to make this Hogmanay weekend an unforgettable celebration for all revellers.

Join us as we delve into the best and most anticipated happenings set to mark the turning of the year – if you don't fancy the Red Hot Highland Fling.

1. Bogmanay at Bogbain Farm

Davy Holt will lead the festivities with songs to get you singing along, from 9.30pm ticket holders will be invited to get their dancing shoes on for Bogbain's resident ceilidh band, Tartan Paint, who will take you through to the bells.

A breather for midnight stovies from Ness Side, followed by a DJ who will have you filling the dance floor with your favourite tunes through till 2am.

2. Big Shindig party at the Drumossie Hotel

The Drumossie Hotel in Inverness is set to throw a huge Hogmanay party. The event costs £110 per person and includes a glass of bubbly and canape reception followed by a four-course gala dinner and artisan cheese board.

Cala will be at the venue to provide the entertainment of ceilidh music and a selection of hits helping you fall into 2024 Hogmanay.

As a six-piece trad band originating from Inverness, the past few years have been exciting for Cala, playing many festivals such as Dandelion Festival, Belladrum, The Gathering and many more.

The event will start at 6.30pm and will finish at 2am.

3. The Strathdearn kids New Year's Eve party

For those looking for some family fun and a child friendly event that allows your kids to celebrate New Year's Eve before bedtime, then Strathdearn kids New Year's Eve party is a great choice.

The event is free to enter and starts at 2pm and finishes at 4pm. Within those two hours, your kids will be able to immerse themselves into all kinds of traditional new year fun.

There will be a ceilidh, face painting, balloons and a buffet for parents and children to get involved in.

All children must be accompanied by a responsible adult at all times.

4. Inverness Kiki Family end of year party

Join the Inverness Kiki Family for an unforgettable night of glitz at their end of year bash.

Hosted by Venus Guytrap you're sure to be entertained by a wonderful night of drag as well as an eclectic mix of Disco, Italo, House and '80s synch from DJ Midnight Majic.

The event is set to take place today at 8.30pm till 12.30am at the upstairs of Tooth and Claw in Inverness.

Tickets are available online or at the door of the event and are free however, if you would like to make a donation to the Kiki family you can do so at the door to support them in hosting more LGBTQ+ social events in the future.

5. Hogmanay celebrations at the Whitebridge Hotel in Inverness

Bring in 'the bells' at the Whitebridge Hotel along the beautiful south side of Loch Ness.

Join them for a Hogmanay dinner, followed by a traditional Highland shindig in our atmospheric old bar.

If you can't make it for the meal, you are welcome to join the party.

Dave Rudge will be getting everyone on their feet for a little dance in the lead up to the bells.

Dust off your party dress and get your kilts to the ready and join them for a Highland traditional New Year.

No tickets are required but if you're planning on going along, you are advised to let them know in advance in order to plan ahead.

This event is not suited to children under the age of eight and all children must be accompanied at all times by an adult.

Whilst the venue is generally dog friendly, it can get busy so not best suited to dogs on this occasion.

6. Hogmanay at Revs

Enter the new year with a bang at Revolution in Inverness as it celebrates the new year with a disco ball.

The event starts at 7pm and is set to go on until 3am, with last entry at 11pm.

There will be a Resident DJ and buffet at the bells, which will include haggis, neeps 'n' tatties.

General entry per person is £10, entry and a standard drink token is £15 and entry with a premium drink token is £18.50.
