A family project to build an igloo has been the best adventure yet.

Dad Gordon Pearson and his boys Struan (7) and Brodie (3), from Tomatin, have had the time, due to lockdown, and enough snow to build their first ever igloo.

Mr Pearson, who runs WOW Scotland tours, said it was so much fun the boys had even managed to spend hours playing out in the man (and boy) made shelter.

Mr Pearson said: "We have had snow at the start of December and since Christmas Eve even by our standards in Tomatin the snowfall has been quite incredible.

"There is always a big snow fall here, and we have attempted an igloo before over the years, but I suppose this year is testament to the amount of snow and the time we have had to build it."

He continued: "Even if we could get out the driveway there is really nowhere to go.

"The boys have played in it and for hours at a time. Not only has it been their den, but they have also enjoyed sliding down the outside of it."
