Bar One on Academy Street will be transformed for a special Great Gatsby event, which includes 1920s style dress, a champagne reception, cocktails and the chance to try your hand at poker and roulette.

The ticket price includes a £10 donation to the The ARCHIE Foundation, a glass of Champagne on arrival, a cocktail from the Bacardi brown-Forman cocktail menu and $100 gambling tokens. From some drinks 50p will go to The ARCHIE Foundation and any gambling re-buys will go to ARCHIE Highlands.

The Highland Children’s Unit was built following a campaign by The ARCHIE Foundation which encouraged individuals, communities, businesses and organisations across the Highlands to help raise £2 million in the huge fundraising drive. The unit opened its doors in May last year. The money raised from the event will be used for life-enhancing equipment and other equipment which is not included in the NHS budget to make sure youngsters in the Children’s Unit have as easy and comfortable a stay as possible.

Liam Reid, manager of Bar One, said: “Bar One is part of Cru Holdings who always like to support and work alongside local charities when we can.

“ARCHIE Highland is a very deserving charity which does a huge amount of worthwhile work in the area.

“The Great Gatsby event is something different for Inverness and we hope we can raise as much money as possible for ARCHIE.”

Laura Mackintosh, head of fundraising for the ARCHIE Foundation, (Highlands and Western Isles), said: “The Great Gatsby event is a fantastic idea and we are absolutely delighted that Bar One are holding this fundraising evening which I’m sure will be a great success.

“We hope as many people as possible will be able to attend and enjoy a journey back in time to the roaring 20s.”

Tickets for the event on Sunday, July 23 are £30. To book call 01463 888258 or email laura@archiefoundation.org.uk
