Nairn County FC had a special visitor this morning when TV presenter Timmy Mallett dropped in.

He is attempting to circumnavigate Great Britain by travelling around the coastline.

A club spokesman said: "There was a special surprise visitor to Station Park this morning.

"The one and only Timmy Mallett, who is attempting to circumnavigate Britain on his bike and had to see for himself the best playing surface in the Highland League.

"Good luck with the rest of your adventure, Timmy."

In a statement on his website Mr Mallett said: "I started from Paddington station on Thursday, March 17 and headed down the Thames and took a right at Dartford.

"Since then I've kept the sea to my left and I'm attempting to circumnavigate Britain."

He described his adventure as a pilgrimage in the footsteps and tyre tracks of the great artists and creating his own artwork along the way. He added: "I'm on over 70 days of cycling and 2750 miles covered of our beautiful country."
