With the prestigious annual Highland Business Awards taking place this month, it’s time to get your ticket booked.

Taking place at the Drumossie Hotel in Inverness on September 30, the awards ceremony and lunch is shaping up to be a not-to-be-missed event.

Organised by Inverness Chamber of Commerce as part of Highland Business Week, the awards are an opportunity to recognise the organisations who have been forerunners across the Highlands and Islands over the past 12 months.

One of the finalists is the Cairngorm Group, which has been shortlisted for the community engagement category.

The company has established ‘Jennifer’s Fund’ to help families make memories that last a lifetime, by providing micro-grants to help fund special trips or activities which might otherwise be unaffordable.

The judges recognised the business for this, alongside its other ongoing projects.

On being shortlisted for the Highland Business Awards, Cairngorm Group managing director Chris Dowling said: “Throughout our 69-year history we have always looked for ways to give back to the communities who have supported us as our business has grown.

“We are delighted to have been shortlisted for this award, recognising the various projects and initiatives we have run over the last few years, especially the launch of Jennifer’s Fund in memory of the daughter and sister of our current chairman and joint managing directors.”

ishga has also been shortlisted for two awards, including digital initiative and innovation. Cara Hosie, head of marketing at the skincare and candle company, said: “We’re thrilled that ishga has been shortlisted in the digital initiative and innovation categories at this year’s Highland Business Awards.

“Next year will mark 10 years since we developed our first product, Anti-oxidant Marine Cream, which remains our bestseller today.

“As we grow, it’s important for us to continue to innovate and develop new ways of bringing value to our customers, so this recognition really means a lot to team ishga!”

Tickets are selling fast, so it’s time to get yours booked to see which businesses will be crowned winners at this year’s event.

Tickets for the awards lunch are priced at £65 + VAT per person, and may be booked individually or for tables of 10.

The event will run from noon-4pm and the ticket price includes a welcome drink and three-course lunch with tea or coffee.

You can also now pre-register as a visitor for Highland Spotlight, which is the region’s biggest business-to-business exhibition and will be another main feature of Highland Business Week, taking place on September 27.

• Tickets for the awards and visitor registration for Highland Spotlight can be found on the chamber’s website.
