A MAINLY well-behaved crowd saw Irish band Boyzone play its first gig in Inverness.

However, there were three arrests for minor offences.

An estimated 6000 fans packed the Northern Meeting Park to see the group supported by girl band, Parade, and X-factor star Shayne Ward.

But one concert-goer said the event had been spoilt by the number of middle-aged women who had been drinking earlier.

A Northern Constabulary spokesman confirmed the arrests were for minor offences.

"We were very happy with the general behaviour of the crowd," he said.

See tomorrow's Inverness Courier for more on the crowd and what promoter Les Kidger thought, plus a review of the concert and pictures.
