THE hunt is on for memories and old photographs to help celebrate the 30th anniversary of an Inverness early years group.

The Andy Pandy Playgroup, which held a mini Highland Games this week, has been a fixture in the local community since 1987.

It meets every morning at Drakies and Culcabock Community Hall in Grebe Avenue and caters for children in the two years before they start school. Although it retains its long-established title “playgroup”, it operates as a nursery. It currently has 22 children including two whose own parents attended the group as children.

Angela Ogilivie, senior early years practitioner, hopes to gather memories and photographs from anyone who has been a part of the group in the last 30 years including children who attended the sessions, relatives, carers, former staff and committee members.

“It would be nice to set up an old photo display,” Mrs Ogilivie said. “Ideally, we will set up a small committee to organise events once the children come back after summer.”
