Carly Fraser (38) and Scott Crichton (25) danced their socks off on Saturday night to receive third place, and were delighted with their achievement.

The pair both joined in late notice to replace others, so had less training than most.

Scott was competing against his brother Adam Crichton his year who won the competition.

He chose enjoyed being part of Strictly Inverness as it is for a great cause and such a spectacle.

The pair completed two dances on the night, even getting three 10's for one performance. Their cha cha performance went down well with the crowd and celebrity judge Flavia Cacace-Mistry even said they they have "fabulous hips".

He added that his goal was to beat Adam but that he was proud of his brother anyway.

Scott said: "It was just extra motivation competing against Adam. On the actual night being able to share the stage with Adam was a fantastic experience. Obviously I wanted to beat him but he pulled out all the stops and him and Penny were fantastic. No hard feelings at all.

"The whole experience was unbelievable really. When I stepped in with Carly we had come in to the whole experience later than everybody else so we had no real expectation. We knew that if we just went and gave it our all then we’d have just as much chance as anybody but to finish third overall is well over what we could've hoped for and we were delighted.

"Winning Thursday was a particular highlight but the fact that I got to share the stage with Adam and also Gillian Cooper and Luke Webber because they were our training twins. The fact we put the time in together and then perform together was really special for all of us. Also just everyone I met through it, everyone was fantastic and so nice to be around."

Carly is cabin crew for Virgin Atlantic and is on the board for the Inverness Ice Centre who split the money raised with the Highland Hospice.

She has been training for four months with Scott and the pair hosted a variety of fundraisers in preparation.

Carly said she had the best fun with the best people in the end and waved hi to her daughter Jessica who watched her mum perform on a livestream on Saturday.
