A 44-year-old cook has been ordered to be of good behaviour for the next six months after admitting stealing a quantity of goods from a city department store.

Wendy Stuart stole a total of £127.50p worth of alcohol and confectionery items from the Marks and Spencer’s store in Inverness.

Appearing at Inverness Sheriff Court on Tuesday, Stuart, of Kilmuir Place, Invergordon, admitted the shoplifting offence, which took place on December 11 last year.

Fiscal depute Sharon Ralph was able to tell the court that there had been full recovery made of the goods that Stuart had stolen.

Stuart is due to re-appear at court on August 11 to be sentenced for the offence.

Sheriff Robert Frazer told her defence solicitor, Rory Gowans: “I am giving her a chance now that she has got a job.”
